| The NWASLA, Inc. Mission:
It is the mission of Northwest American Sign Language Associates, Inc. to provide the highest quality communication facilitation services to people who are Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing, in the States of Oregon and southwest Washington, and to all others who might benefit from its services.
Communication Facilitation:
Provision of qualified, certified sign language, oral, and spoken English interpreting services and TypeWell Transcription services to transmit information between Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, oral, and/or hearing individuals.
Cross-Cultural Mediation:
Promotion of understanding diverse cultures and languages through exposure to Deaf Culture and American Sign Language.
Education/Consultation:
Transmission of information regarding legal obligations related to provision of access/accommodations; training for companies employing Deaf individuals in American Sign Language; cultural awareness consultation.
Standardization:
Provision of a guaranteed level and quality of service through recognition of national certification and interpreter/educator training.
